Birdwatching in Loreto. Diverse Habitats and Spot Over 400 Bird Species
With Coastlines, mountains, as well as desert, riparian, and agriculture habitats, Loreto (and Baja Sur) is a bird rich area hosting more than 400 bird species. Birding trips of about 2 and a half to 4 hours each- choice of a freshwater walk including a lake and desert scrub area, the other is around a saltwater estuary. Both are mostly flat firm ground and easy walking. Tom is taking this season off but a good alternative is Rodolfo Palacios, a native of Baja Sur who speaks English.
