The Sea of Cortez is renowned for its brilliant turquoise waters and rugged desert surroundings, along with 5 main islands:

Coronado, Carmen, or Danzante Islands in the Loreto Marine Park can be easily visited by a local Panga and Captain.  Coronado Island  to the north is closest and smallest island with a resident Sea Lion colony. Bird watching, Snorkelling and Diving, Kayaking, Relaxing on the incredible white sand beach with clear turquoise water are the highlights. Shade Palapas and bathroom facilities available to the public.

Carmen Island is the larger island to the south, and Danzante is a little more south and closer to Puerto Escondido. Both islands offer fabulous swimming, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, bird watching, and relaxing on beaches. Honeymoon Beach is on Danzante Island and has small trails to hike up and take in beautiful views from above the bay.
